Today, Governor Maura Healey Governor Maura Healey announced $164 Million in grant awards to 161 communities through the FY 2024 One Stop for Growth program to fund economic development projects across the state. The Town of Upton received $3,620,615 in construction funding to extend water and sewer infrastructure from Upton Center east along Route 140 to support mixed use and commercial development. The grant will cover construction costs associated with the extension of water and sewer to support the Governor’s Landing development as well as unlock potential development along the Rt. 140 corridor. Last year the Town received $275K to conduct design and engineering for the project.
Also announced under the One Stop for Growth Program were two other grants that Upton received. The Town of Upton was also awarded a $50,000 grant through the Housing Choice Grant Program for the production of a Building Rehabilitation Feasibility Study for Holy Angels Church and a $30,000 grant through the Community Planning Grant Program for zoning technical assistance to comply with MBTA Communities.
