HARFORD AVE NORTH WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT PROJECT
The Department of Public Works (DPW) will begin the Hartford Ave North Water Main Replacement Project on Monday, June 4th 2018. The water main replacement project will take place between Main Street and Stoddard Street. The first week of construction will be conducted from Monday June 4th – Friday, June 8th , 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
Then beginning Sunday afternoon, June 10th and through Friday June 15th, work will be conducted between the hours of 4:00 PM and Midnight. Evening and overnight work is necessary to connect the new water main from the intersection of Route 140, up to Dunkin Donuts. Once this crucial connection is complete, work will resume once again Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
The project will take approximately sixty (60) days to complete depending on weather and any unanticipated issues encountered. During the first two weeks of the project, there will be a few homes that will have a temporary interruption to their service. These homes will be notified a minimum of 24 hours in advance by the DPW. For the remainder of the project, temporary water services will be provided to all homes in order to prevent any further interruptions in service until the new water main is put into service. Message boards will be placed at both ends of the project notifying motorists of the construction schedule and potential detours.
The Town’s goal is to complete this project as quickly & smoothly as possible, with as little service interruptions as possible, including access to and from homes. There should never be a situation that prevents access to private property.
