The Select Board is currently evaluating Holy Angels to determine it's condition and to identify the scope of improvements that will be needed, along with the cost, for making the building comply with building code requirements.
Holy Angels Church was built in 1848 as the First Unitarian Society but later purchased by the Catholic bishop of Springfield in 1874, and later purchased by the Town. Per the goals outlined in the Town Center Vision, the Holy Angels Church is a valued structure in Upton and preferred to be preserved, if feasible.
